Spain has 47 million people with 4 major language groups. Many cities and towns do not have an evangelical witness and only 0.15 percent of the people in Spain are Evangelical Believers, this is why the work that Rafael and Mary Restrepo do as missionaries is so important.
The “Christian Assembly Church” in Murcia had its beginnings in 1997 when the first Spaniard came to Christ.
The church began in the Restrepo’s home largely through children’s work. In January of 2001 a store front was rented.
Today the church averages over 100 in attendance, and moved into a new larger hall in the Summer of 2008. We praise God for working in our midst. Since 2007, Dimas Alvarez has been the new pastor at the Christian Assembly Church in Murcia.
|The Christian Assembly Church in Murcia birthed a daughter church in the city of Torrevieja in 2004, the International Christian Assembly. This ministry is reaching out to the large international community that numbers over 70,000 in this city. ICA now averages 76 in attendance. The church has an outreach at a local outdoor market, and holds various events throughout the week. ICA birthed its daughter church in September of 2011 in the village of Hondon delos Frailes, This ministry is a bilingual work with services in Spanish and English. This new work meets on Saturday night. Jack Kirk is co-Elder with Rafael.|
The newest work is The Christian Assembly Church in Torrevieja. This Spanish speaking work is seeking to reach out to the Spanish community. Please pray for this new ministry. The immediate need is for a national pastor to take over the Torrevieja ICA church. Also we need to find a more suitable meeting place in the village of Hondon. We are also asking God to send us someone to minister along side of us in the Spanish work in Torrevieja.
