Spain has 44 million
people with 4 major language groups. Many cities and towns do not have an
evangelical witness and only 0.15% of the people of Spain are Evangelical
Believers. This percentage drops even more in Murcia and in Torrevieja
where the believers average 0.09%. That is why the work that Rafael and
Mary Restrepo do as missionaries is so important.

The "Christian Assembly Church" in Murcia had its beginnings in 1997 when the first Spaniard came to Christ. The church began in the home of the Restrepos largely through children’s work. In January of 2001, a storefront was rented. Today, the church averages over 100 in attendance, and has moved into a new larger hall in the Summer of 2008. We praise God for His working in our midst.

Dimas Alvarez is the new pastor at the Christian Assembly Church in Murcia since 2007.

The Christian Assembly Church in Murcia birthed a daughter church in the city of Torrevieja in 2004, International Christian Assembly. This ministry is reaching out to the large international community numbering over 70,000 in this city.
With an average of over 60 in attendance it is now an established church. We meet on Sunday evenings in a rented store front. The church manages a literature table as an outreach at a local outdoor market, and holds various events throughout the
week.
Rafael and Mary will be pastoring this young church as of September 2008 full time and also will be scouting out new land to start a new Spanish speaking church as the Lord leads in the area of the Mar Menor Murcia.
